Ingredients
  

Cookies

  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 cup Crisco shortening
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 package of dry yeast non-quick rising

Nut Mixture

  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp cocoa

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix the flour and dry yeast together in a large bowl.
  • Add Crisco with a pastry cutter.
  • Mix in sour cream, mix very well.
  • Mix in egg yolks.
  • Roll mixture into 2 inch balls.
  • Combine all the ingredients of the nut mixture in a small bowl.
  • Sprinkle the nut mixture evenly onto a clean and dry surface.
  • Roll each dough ball through the nut mixture, making sure to coat evenly.
  • Roll the dough out with a rolling pin.
  • Cut each piece of dough into 2 inch squares.
  • Roll each piece of dough like a crescent roll.
  • Place on a greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
  • Bake 15-20 minutes.
  • Let cookies fully cool before enjoying!
